Taking a short break from working on new music, I step outside and watch the moon. One moment she is slightly veiled with thin clouds, the next she is perfectly clear. I love how the clouds can be blown so quickly while there is almost no breeze at ground level. Layers of moving (or not) air. Wishing every one of you a delightful day.
Here is an excerpt from the title track of my CD, “The Cambrian Sky,” which consists of 3, 20-minute pieces, suitable for meditation, yoga, massage or just whenever you want to hear something relaxing.
Please feel free to share!
I hope you enjoy this, and I wish you a wonderful holiday season.

Big smiles, warm hugs and goodbye kisses. Like me, she gets up early – 4:30 on weekdays and 5:30 on weekends. She works Thursday through Sunday, so we rarely get an entire day together.
I get on the freeway at Sly Park, and pick my way down the side of the mountain to Placerville. The sky is just starting to lighten. There is a gradient at the eastern horizon, which I see in the rear-view mirror. Light bronze to deep purple. There’s a lot of smoke here from control burns being done near Kyburz.
It takes me an hour to get home if I don’t stop for coffee at Missouri Flat, which I usually do. Then, smooth sailing in weekend traffic all the way to West Sacramento.
These are quiet, gentle mornings alone in my truck with the music off. I think about her or about music or about work. Or about life and things I’ve learned and things I want to learn and how much I’m loving it.
Today I’ve uploaded a new song from upcoming CD “Ardea Alba”, which will be released in late spring or early summer this year. This one is called “Adrift” – still a work in progress, but very nearly finished. I hope you enjoy it – please do leave comments.
Recently I’ve been sorting through some old recordings I’ve done, looking for material to include on future CD’s. Here is something I recorded in late 2004. It’s a departure from what I usually do in that it uses all synths, and no acoustic instruments.
I’m always interested to hear your opinions – let me know what you think in the comments below.
A couple of months ago I let you know about a new project I’ve been working on. It’s different from the more meditative music I’ve been playing for the past couple of years – there’s some percussion, guitars and a lot of other fun stuff.
Today I’ve uploaded a piece called “@The Moon”. It still needs a little work, but it’s pretty nearly complete.
I’d love to hear your opinion of it – please let me know what you think in the comments section below.
